The H55 lounge chair was designed in 1955 by the Swedish architect and designer Björn Hultén. The idea was to create a piece of furniture that was robust enough for outdoor use, yet so carefully designed that it would also look natural indoors.
Characteristic of the chair is its unusual construction made of teak and stainless steel. Two interconnected, trapezoidal frame elements give the lounge chair its distinctive geometry and high stability. The backrest can be adjusted to various positions, allowing the H55 to be used for upright sitting or a relaxed reclining position.
The light grey Sunbrella Heritage Ash finish complements the warm teak wood with a subtle, textile surface. The Sunbrella Heritage fabric consists of 50% recycled fibres and is designed for outdoor use.
